Episode 19 is the nineteenth chapter of Hooky by Míriam Bonastre Tur.
Summary[]
Dorian is running through the forest to catch-up with the men who took Dani, but he soon realises he is not fast enough. His sister has always been the faster of the two, and this brings a old memory to his mind. When they were children, he and his sister tried to flee from their house to visit the nearby village to play with other kids their age. However, because of Dorian being slow, they were caught and brought back home by their servants. He remembers that his father scolded them a lot that time and told the non-magical people were dangerous for witches, so they were forbidden from leaving their house again until they were old enough to hide their magical powers. His mother also enigmatically told them to not worry, because their parents were working for a plan to fix their problem. Danien, realises at that time he didn't get what their mom meant, but he now understands his father was right.
In the meantime, the three villagers tie Dani at the stake and accuse her to be the witch who kidnapped and killed their children. They tell the other townsfolks she is disguising herself to look like a child and lie about her using black magic in from of them. They decide that even if burning witches is not allowed anymore, they want to make an exception for her, since she is a murderer. Dani tries to defend herself, but the townsfolks don't listen her plea and agree to burn her instead. In desperation, her mind wanders to his brother, who unbeknown to her is struggling to arrive at the village in time. While he runs, though, Dorian stumble on a root and loses his wand.
