Angela Wytte is a reoccurring character in Hooky. She is the wife of Hans Wytte, head of the Wytte Family. She is the mother of Damien, Dorian, and Daniela Wytte, as well as the sister-in-law to Hilde Wytte. She becomes one of the main antagonists to the series.
Appearance[]
Angela is a witch of slender build, fair skin, and somewhat short in stature. She has long, straight black hair which is typically kept in a rather messy braid, typically draped over her shoulder. She has black eyes, a trait which is shared with her youngest children. She has black lips and somewhat long eyelashes, which may be an indication of makeup. After nearly getting burnt at the stake, she obtained a large, striking scar which covers most of the left side of her face.
Angela wears a variation of the same outfit throughout the series. Her wardrobe consists of somewhat old-fashioned, upper class, late 19th century style clothing - almost always black and white. In early episodes, she frequently wore a white, scoop necked blouse with a braided hemline, with puffy short sleeves. This was tucked into a black, calf-length skirt. She either wears black boots, or short heeled shoes with black leggings.
Personality[]
Angela is typically characterized as being a sweet, caring individual to those close to her. She is very loving and affectionate towards her family. When Damien accidentally turned a village child into a toad, she was not upset with him, and rather comforted him when he was scared of what would happen. When villagers came to attack her family, she stood in the way to protect them, and sacrificed to be burned before her son would. Even as her children turn against the family and the revenge, she feels they deserve, she never resents her children, and never attempts to harm them. As Damien grows up and begins to drift away from his family, Angela still looks forward to the few times he comes home to visit. When Damien became King of the Witches, she is happy to be able to reconnect and spend time with him. When Dani becomes possessed by the darkness, she worries over her state and wellbeing.
Despite this, it seems much of her gentleness left her after her attempted burning. She wants revenge so badly, and is ruthless to the point of harming anyone who stands her way, even if they are friends of her children. She is renown in both the witch and human communities for her wrath, and all fear her because of it.
Angela is a very strong leader, rallying witches behind her cause with relative ease and little push back from the witching community. She gives an impassioned speech in the village during the ball at Monica's Castle, encouraging the witches to rise up against the king. She can be manipulative, guilting Damien into becoming King of the Witches, claiming he "owes her." She also attempts to persuade Dani to join her after Angela kills Monica's father, and then belittles Dani when she refuses to.
History[]
Nothing is known about Angela’s past before the series. It is not known when or how she met Hans, though they eventually fell in love and got married, and sometime after had their eldest son, Damien.
Story[]
When she was pregnant with Dani and Dorian, Damien had accidentally turned one of his childhood friends into a frog resulting in the townsfolk of that village to know they are witches. Due to this, the villagers are scared of the Wytte family and are angry at them for turning one of their people into an animal.
William’s father then commands for Angela to be burned, breaking the pact between him and Monica’s father to not harm the witches. As a result of William’s father decreeing that, the next day Angela is put on a stake and set ablaze. She is then saved by her family but now has a scar in the process and an undeniable hatred for humans, wanting to seek revenge.
Powers and abilities[]
Being a witch, she is adept in many of the skills witches have. She is frequently seen riding a broom with ease, and can presumably brew potions.
Spell Casting[]
Angela is very powerful at casting spells, an ability that was passed onto her daughter. When Dani uses a spell with the help of the spirit to try and stop her mother while in Amir’s castle, she breaks free of it with relative ease. She is notorious among witches for her spells, and many fear her because of it.
Dragon Taming[]
Not much is known about dragon taming, though it appears to be a very difficult skill that few seem to possess. Angela was seen controlling the dragons during the attack on Monica’s castle, and during the attack in the desert. She can ride a dragon with relative ease as well. This seems to be another skill that was passed to her youngest son.

Main characters[]
Damien Wytte: Her eldest child and son. Angela loves Damien, even after he leaves their family. He likewise loves her - though he harbors guilt, feeling he was the cause for all the despair she had and hurt she felt. He begins to feel distant from her, wishing she could go back to how she was before. When the prophecy for the King of the Witches is revealed, she guilts Damien into wearing the crown, saying that he owes her, and that him "seeking revenge for [his] mother is the best way" to end the conflict. She was happy to reconnect to him afterward. Despite this, she did not fully trust him to tell where William was being held, and Damien couldn’t ask her because "she knows [him] too well."
Daniela Wytte: Her only daughter, who she cares for a lot. After killing Monica's parents, she kidnapped Dani and later attended Hans's funeral with her and Hilde.
Dorian Wytte: Her second son. Angela and the witches' community wanted him to be crowned King after Damien's "betrayal."
Monica: Though she never explicitly stated it, she most likely hated Monica just as much as she hated her father and mother. She made her an orphan by slaughtering her parents.
Supporting characters[]
Hans Wytte: Angela’s husband. She loves him deeply, and works with him to enact her revenge on humans. She frequently calls him pet names, such as "honey." When he was killed by Dorian, she was deeply distraught.
Hilde Wytte: Her sister-in-law. Not much has been shown about their relationship yet, though they seem to be on good terms.
Monica's father: She hated Monica’s father, to the point of killing him in his sleep because, although he didn’t hate witches, he still never managed to demolish the growing invisible gates that separated the two species thus leading to witch discrimination and burnings at the stake, that of which Angela and her daughter had to face.
William's father: Angela absolutely despised William’s father as he was the perpetrator of her burning and an indirect cause of her scar. William’s father hated witches and wanted to see them be diminished from existence.
